121 Wellbeing Sessions

CC&S provides a comprehensive peer support and well-being service through weekly group meetings and 12 wellbeing sessions. Our goal is to assist women with their mental health, social connections, and emotional well-being. We understand that women require various options to address their well-being needs, often by connecting with like-minded individuals in a welcoming and secure environment where they can share experiences and offer support without judgment. Additionally, we acknowledge the importance of a personalised approach, and the 121 well-being sessions serve as an extension of this, offering adaptable resources to help women prioritise their self-care requirements as well as care for those around them.

“I can’t tell you how much I needed that today. to have that time to myself to fully relax. I don’t think I’ve felt that relaxed since having J. You’re amazing and I’m so grateful”.

About our Focused Wellbeing sessions

Our Focused Wellbeing sessions support mums to reflect on their self care habits in their everyday living. We understand that most of the caring responsibilities fall on mum, especially whilst on maternity leave and often beyond and we feel it is important to equip our members with healthy habits they can implement outside of our group sessions, so that they can keep giving to their families from a place of overflow and not depletion. Our wellbeing sessions are held once a month at our Heaton Norris session in Stockport. SK4 1JA

About our weekly sessions

Our weekly peer support sessions aim to offer a  supportive space where mums (and dads on the walk and talk) can come together and share experiences with each other with no judgement. The sessions aim to be uplifting; we laugh a lot, we are open and honest, we are a safe space if you need to vent or cry, but we really aim to reassure, to support any thoughts of self doubt or worry over your efforts of being a good parent.

Benefits of the group sessions

We offer

Hand massage

Reiki

Support groups

Family Sessions

Children Welcome

Community Connection

Open to women at any stage of motherhood

My initial thoughts were that the group would be for new mums, so mums with children aged 0-2 yrs. However, I really had no real plan in which direction it would go. The project has grown organically and adapted to the needs of the women who attend. The group is open to all women at any stage of motherhood. so it doesn’t matter how old your children are, YOU ARE WELCOME!

Children are welcome

Pre School children are welcome with parents who are also in the perinatal phase of parenting and we have a nice space for them too. We also open our sessions up to the whole family in the holidays and facilitate family sessions to keep that connection. Our Family sessions are usually held in local parks, information is shared on our social media  platforms.

Social Media

As well as the group sessions we also have a closed Facebook group that encourages women to share their concerns or experiences but also offer each other advice. Not everyone can get to the group session so this is another support resource for them to use.

Here is what a couple of the mums have said about attending the group –

I just want to thank you for this morning. I’ve come home feeling lighter! It was so refreshing to go to a group and not feel like you needed to play a certain role or worry about what people think of you. I think what you’re doing is fantastic.

I enjoy coming to the group as it is a relief to be around like-minded people. Whether you want to vent about your feelings or just sit and listen. Just having somewhere to go where there is no pressure or pretence is a great benefit to me.
